George's on Huxley is a wonderful, comfortable & stylish place to stay. Ayra is a wonderful host and has been just lovely. The house is located in a great position in Currie. Highly recommended!

Ayra looks after George's on Huxley a beautifully appointed but simple 2BDR home in a quiet street tucked behind the sandhills of Currie Harbour. It is close to the main street with the shops, the bakery, the pub, the cafe and a great restaurant (Oleada). The beds are new and pillow-top comfortable, the shower is hot and strong at the end of a day exploring. Sink into the comfy couches and catch up on the big TV (or BYO DVDs - no netflix here!). So many little comforts that make it like a home away from home - the welcoming cheese platter, hot cross buns and bunnies for Easter!!., the nespresso with lots of pods, a full kitchen, BBQ, laundry with everything set up to go, nice shampoo and lotions in the bathroom, all the maps and brochures ready to tempt you out exploring or onto the gold course. We loved the Currie suburban streetscape with the curious human sized coke bottle mailbox opposite (not kidding). Be warned. Everyone on this island is friendly and they all love a chat. A great place for a quiet week away. Or a weekend or whatever we can manage next time we need to get away!

“George's on Huxley exceeded our expectations. It was in a great location, a very quick walk to the shops in Currie. The accommodation was spotless and very stylish, the beds were particularly comfortable and the kitchen extremely well appointed. There was also the added lovely surprise of a wonderful cheese platter in the fridge awaiting us. The pantry was well stocked with useful provisions such as gladwrap, oil, condiments and bread and the coffee machine and array of herbal teas were much appreciated. We enjoyed sitting on the decking sipping wine and tasting King Island cheese. Our 3 day adventure on King Island was so memorable; with visits to the King Island Dairy, the platypus tour, shipwreck sites, bird hides, the Yellow Rock beach, Cape Wickham, Martha Lavinia, the calcified forest and the King Island museum. The highlight though was the gorgeous Boathouse at the Currie harbour, so exquisite and unique. Not to be missed! A place to take your own lunch and enjoy the idyllic location. Check it out!”

Excellent house, exactly as described in the listing. We enjoyed the location, in easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants in Currie (less than 5 minute walk for us), our host provided some nice extra touches, e.g., a selection of great cheeses from the local award winning cheese factory/dairy.

My wife and I spent a week at George's on Huxley and it was perfect for us. The house is centrally located a 1 minute walk from the main shops and restaurants. It has two roomy bedrooms and would be suitable for one or two couples, or a family. The kitchen is modern and the bathroom/laundry/toilet is well laid out with each separated at the end of the house. Lounge was roomy and comfortable. There is a large lawn area with outside deck with table/seating, and a bbq is also available. Ayra was a great host, with instant contact and a nice touch of contacting us in advance so she could supply some nice welcome touches, cheese/wine/bread etc. If you are thinking of King Island, you won't go wrong staying at George's on Huxley. It's a laid back location and we were very glad we spent a week as a few days would have been too rushed. Some of the prettiest beaches I have ever seen in over 40 countries visited and you literally have them all to yourself. Thanks Ayra for an awesome stay

"Have just got back from a work trip to King Is were we stayed at Georges on Huxley. Fantastic amenities, close to everything in town, very neat and clean. Ayra the property manager was awesome to deal with and made our trip that little bit easier. I have already recommended "Georges" to some friends as the place to stay when traveling to King Is."

George's on Huxley is a modern well appointed, comfortable get away. Very clean and spacious with a real homely feel. The house is close to the Currie township which has shops, restaurants and services and it's just a short picturesque stroll to the coast. This was a great base to explore King Island and lovely to come back to after visiting the wonderful sites of the Island. The house was warm and inviting and a great place to relax and reflect on the day past and planning for the next day!"

"Perfect home away from home."
Myself and a fellow student recently spent 2 weeks in this lovely house, while we were on work experience. Upon arrival we were meeted by the property manager, who had essential foods for us and a lovely cheese platter. The house has a lovely open feel, but there is also room for you to have your own space. The house was all of a 3 minute walk to town which was prefect for shopping, work and a night out, as well a being a 5 minute walk to one of the local look outs with a beautiful view of the Currie harbour and sunset.

"Very comfortable King Island accommodation."
I stayed here whilst on a work trip and was very impressed with every aspect of this place. The place was very clean and the beds were very comfortable (Hard to find on King Island). The place is close to the shops however when I arrived there was already some butter & milk in the fridge (very rare!) and furthermore just to top it off some King Island cheese and biscuits were on the bench. A very nice stay, thank you.

My partner and I recently flew to King Island for a golf weekend, and were directed to this excellent property by Ayra Baer (the property manager). This newly renovated home was very conveniently and centrally located in Currie, is very well set up, and Ayra and the owners have tended to every detail to make sure your stay is comfortable. We will certainly consider this property again for our next visit.
